The buzz created by all that surrounds the exciting world of wine, is what has given rise to a thrilling joint project led by wineries of all kinds, companies related to wine tourism, hotels, restaurants, museums, wineries and all the towns in the area.

Bodegas Luis Cañas who have been part of this project for some years, share the spirit of this wine tourism route Certified as one of the “Wine Routes of Spain”, and opens its doors to anyone who wants to familiarise themselves with their great wines and philosophy, from the vineyard to the glass.

The Rioja Alavesa Wine Route offers visitors a full schedule of activities for all seasons. It has the support of the Alava and Basque institutions and aims to highlight a new concept in tourism. To a unique experience in the vineyards and wineries and the scenic appeal of their own getaway, travellers can add further attractions such as specialised festivals, popular celebrations and exhibitions, vintage car rallies, sports marathons, hiking and guest houses, cottages and hotels and local inns welcoming and full of charm either to spend the night or enjoy a cuisine true to its roots blessed with a prodigious variety of vegetables, legumes and salads, sausages, meats and desserts which have bequeathed to the people of this region some of their best dishes.

Wineries, museums, accommodations, restaurants, wine bars… a total of 106 establishments have joined together with the common goal of improving the experience of travellers visiting the Rioja Alavesa by offering them increasingly sophisticated and personalised services.
